Artist Statement
I like too make art because I see the inspiration for what I am doing then I have to work, and work to make my project and finally I get to see the result, then compare my product to the original image. I prefer my subject to be something that does not move much, such as a fountain, building, or tree. This is because it allows me to take my time taking the photo and I can get it perfect. I use the faster shutter speeds a lot because it gives the photo a clear, crisp look that I prefer to the blur and movement of the slower shutter speeds. My work is different to others because it is normally pretty close up and not of people or animals. I see an absence of people or animals in most of my photos, which can sometimes give the photos an abandoned feeling, such as with the baseball field. I want to do art for fun and as a hobby, not so much a career. Sebastiao Salgado inspres me with his work, especially the Genesis project. This inspired me because of the spectacular pictures that just give you a sense of awe. All of the pictures in Genesis are of nature the weather, and I try to do some similar pictures in my work, such as the treee picture.
